Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro review
- Body and Feel
Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro :
Asus is the only brand I’ve come across to release different subcategories smartphones under a series of phone. For example, the Zenfone 3 series had Zenfone Zoom, Zenfone Max, Zenfone ultra, Zenfone deluxe and more!
And not to mention that the pricing of the phones has also become better compared to the value per price considered. So, the Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro (ASUS_Z01MD) as its name suggests is a phone that focuses on its front camera.
Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie pro Build and Display Quality :
The first thing you’ll notice when you have the phones on hand is how slim the phone is. The Zenfone 4 selfie pro is just 6.85mm thin and is made up of metal that makes the phone look and feels even premium. Not to mention that it’s slippery thereby Asus includes a silicone case in the box if you want to avoid damage.
The power button on the right has a good tactile feedback and feels good and the volume buttons are right above the power button which makes it feel out of reach if your hands small or if you are right-handed. The secondary camera present behind has a very bump that won’t bother as much as the iPhone ( Just a comparison 😛 ).
The 5.5 inch display on the front is a full HD AMOLED display which offers very good color saturation and the viewing angles are good compared to other AMOLED displays but not the best.
Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro specs :
The Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro is a decently equipped smartphone at its price range with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of Storage. The phone runs on ZenUI 4.0 which is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It feels good and lag free. Not to mention there are few pre-installed apps. The phone is equipped with a 3000 mAh battery that gets along a full day heavy media usage and else stays on 3 days even without charging for very light use. Sadly, there is no fast charge support for this phone.
The Zenfone 4 Selfie pro scores 65,200 points in AnTuTu which is pretty good compared with other smartphones in this price range.
Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro Camera :
As the name says, camera is the main importance and it is amazing to be honest. The Selfie Pro has 24 MP front camera but technically its dual 12MP sensors which use them to make a single 24MP sensor.
The main front sensor is a 12MP Sony IMX362 sensor with an aperture of f/1.8. The photos taken with it are clear and crisp if shot under proper lighting. If not, its overexposed in daylight shots. The low light is decent and removes most of the noise in the picture but not great!
The second front sensor is a wide angle sensor with a 120 degree field of view for group selfies. But this sensor doesn’t perform to the best and appear to be washed out.
The rear 16MP camera is snappy and fast, it captures lots of details in any kind of shot. Exposure is balanced well here and manages to be noise free comparing to the front camera.
Not to mention, both the front and the rear camera can record in 4K meaning you can both the cameras record 4K and the resolution, quality is good as long as the light is proper.
